How Our Story Began
The Christopher Dailey Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in memory of Christopher Dailey following his passing in 2001. Its purpose is to support charitable organizations and community initiatives in Saratoga County, New York, with a focus on helping those who need it most—particularly youth and families—through grants, summer camp funding, and local programs.

Christopher Dailey was an active and spirited 8 year old “boy next door,” a third grade student at Dorothy Nolan Elementary School, and the beloved son of Mark and Maria Dailey of Wilton, NY. On November 23, 2001, the day after Thanksgiving, Christopher died suddenly in the hospital. His sudden and tragic departure left a devastating void not only in his family, but also with his playmates, friends, neighbors and fellow students.
The Foundation
Within weeks after Chris' passing, members of Chris’ family and some close friends reflected on how to make something positive out of such a heartbreaking turn of events. A foundation was established with a goal to build a lasting and living memory of Christopher through the construction of a youth recreational facility somewhere in the Greater Saratoga Area. The stipulations were simple: To enrich the children of our community with a place to play, learn and enhance their lives through team and individual sports activities in a facility that bears his name.
The 1st Annual Turkey Trot
The Saratoga Turkey Trot (officially the Christopher Dailey 5K Saratoga Turkey Trot) is our annual Thanksgiving morning 5K run and walk. It was founded in 2002 in memory of Christopher, who passed away in November 2001.
The event serves as the primary fundraiser for the Christopher Dailey Foundation, which supports youth recreational facilities, local charities, and children with special needs across the greater Saratoga region.
The 1st Annual Golf Tournament
Every spring, since 2002, friends, family, and members of the Saratoga community come together at the beautiful McGregor Links Country Club in Wilton for the Christopher Dailey Foundation Golf Tournament.
This beloved annual tradition, now in its 25th year, began in 2002 as a heartfelt way to honor the memory of young Christopher Dailey and has since become one of the Foundation’s most important fundraising events.
Golfers of all skill levels are invited to enjoy a scenic round of golf on one of the area’s finest courses, while fostering camaraderie and supporting a cause close to home. Whether you’re a serious golfer looking to compete or simply want to spend the day with friends and family, this event offers a wonderful opportunity to give back while enjoying the game.

CDF Bowling Tournament
The Christopher Dailey Foundation Bowling Tournament returned for its 2nd Annual event on Sunday, March 22nd, and once again struck big at the Saratoga Strike Zone in Saratoga Springs, New York. From 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m., all 28 lanes were sold out as enthusiastic teams filled the venue for an afternoon of friendly competition, laughter, and community spirit.
Participants competed in a best-of-two-rounds format, battling for top honors and prizes awarded to the first, second, and third place teams. The energy was high as bowlers of all ages and abilities enjoyed competitive games filled with strikes, spares, gutter balls, and plenty of high-fives. Complimentary pizza and drinks, generously provided by the Saratoga Strike Zone, kept everyone fueled and added to the festive, family-friendly atmosphere.
